The MJC team in both Leeds and Nottingham came together to gather gifts and toys for Operation Christmas Child.
The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to pack a shoe box with gifts, such as toys, hygiene and school supplies, and to gift children in need around the world at Christmas.
In November the team worked together to dig out unused shoeboxes from the back of wardrobes and to collect various items to gift in the shoe boxes, often picking up items spotted while on lunch breaks.
After gathering all the contributions, the shoe boxes were wrapped and packed by the MJC elves, Leah Winstanley, Katie Hall and Danielle Lunn. So many contributions had been collected that on packing day some additional sourcing of shoe boxes from local shoe stores was required!
The MJC team collected enough gifts to fill 14 shoe boxes which will bring some Christmas cheer and joy to children in need.
