Expertise

Leah is able to advise on a wide range of issues in Court of Protection personal welfare matters including applications including individuals’ residence, care needs and the deprivation of their liberty.  Leah is very experienced in supporting and working with people with dementia, learning disabilities and mental health conditions. 

Leah completed her law degree at the University of Leeds. During her studies Leah volunteered at Leeds City Council within the welfare rights clinic aiding vulnerable individuals with benefits claims. It was her experience through volunteering and studying the law surrounding mental capacity and mental health where she developed her passion for working with vulnerable clients.

Leah’s keenness to develop her expertise in supporting and working with people with mental illnesses and impairments led to her joining MJC Law as a paralegal in June 2019.  Leah completed her training contract with MJC Law and qualified as a Solicitor in March 2023.  

Leah accepts instructions from individuals, family members, advocates and RPRs, as well as other interested parties. Leah is committed to developing her experience in the areas of community care and mental health law.
