Shereen Eveson is a Paralegal based at MJC Law’s Nottingham office.
Shereen developed an interest in pursuing a career in law through volunteering at a food bank whilst completing A-Levels. Many clients had legal battles (crime, family, debt) and faced many social mobility challenges. Shereen was able to see how the legal system helped people, and developed a keen interest in entering the legal profession and representing disadvantaged/vulnerable clients.
Shereen completed her Law degree at the University of Derby, graduating with a first class honours. Shereen then joined a small legal aid firm in Nottingham in January 2021, working in the Public Law & Community Care Department. The work primarily involved judicial review claims representing asylum seekers and prisoners, as well as assisting on claims where damages were sought for historical child sexual abuse whilst in the care of local authorities. This work furthered Shereen’s passion to work with vulnerable clients.
Shereen completed the SQE1 in July 2023 and is hoping to complete SQE2 in the coming years.
Shereen joined MJC Law in September 2023 and is keen to continue with Community Care practice and develop experience in Court of Protection work.
