Expertise

Ellesse specialises in Court of Protection health and welfare matters. Ellesse graduated from Wolverhampton University in 2014, earning a first-class honours degree in Criminal Justice and Law. Having developed a keen interest in the law, especially in working with vulnerable clients, Ellesse moved to Nottingham in 2015 where she joined a national firm as a Court of Protection paralegal supporting solicitors acting on behalf of litigation friends, advocates, RPRs and family members in Court of Protection cases, concerning such matters as the care, residence and contact arrangements for vulnerable adults. Ellesse continued this Court of Protection work when she joined MJC Law in 2020.

With a strong commitment to human rights and social justice, Ellesse returned to education in 2023 and gained a postgraduate degree in Professional Social Work Practice with Lancaster University, whilst working in statutory children’s and adult services. After qualifying, Ellesse developed her social work practice forming part of a Learning Disability Partnership within statutory services.

Ellesse brings a holistic approach to complex legal issues, ensuring that decisions are not only legally robust but also guided by a deep understanding of social care principles. Having worked extensively in cases involving mental capacity, deputyship, and safeguarding, her dual experience allows her to navigate the intersection of law and social care, offering a well-rounded perspective when supporting individuals, families, and professionals through nuanced and delicate decision-making.

Since being introduced to the work of the Court of Protection in 2015, Ellesse has been committed in her pursuit of championing the rights of others. Having now qualified as a social worker, Ellesse returns to MJC Law, and continues her legal studies through CILEx Law School. She is presently an associate member of CILEx and studies part-time to obtain her qualification as a Chartered Legal Executive.
