MJC Law are delighted to announce that Katie Hall, Paralegal, placed 3rd in the Hammond Cup 2023. This competition is organised by the Nottinghamshire Law Society and focuses specifically on advocacy skills.
After a tough first round of presenting a criminal sentencing exercise, Katie impressed the panel of judges and was chosen as one of four finalists to participate in a full trial for the final of the competition. Katie demonstrated excellent advocacy skills through her examination of witnesses and her logical and detailed closing statement.
Katie says, “The Hammond Cup Final was an enjoyable experience; it was a step outside of my usual comfort zone but I’m glad that I took part in the experience, and it enabled me to develop my advocacy skills. Partaking in this competition has given me renewed confidence to tackle new challenges and to continue to develop my advocacy skills in my role as a Paralegal at MJC Law.”
