MJC Law are thrilled to welcome Alison Ward to the team. Alison will join the team in the Nottingham office as a salaried Director and Solicitor, specialising in Mental Health Law.
Alison joins MJC Law with a wealth of experience in Mental Health Law, having achieved her mental health accreditation from the Law Society in 2004 and maintaining this throughout her career. Prior to joining MJC Law, Alison was a Director and Head of Department for the Mental Health team at a national law firm. She remained at the national law firm for 17 years and during this time assisted in the development and growth of the Mental Health team, which became well-established and was shortlisted as a finalist for Team of the Year at the LALY awards in 2021.
Alison has a breadth of experience in representing patients subject to the Mental Health Act, with a particular specialism in representing forensic patients, and is an experienced Advocate before the First Tier Tribunal for Mental Health. Alison aims to represent clients in a sensitive way, providing honest and clear advice, using her knowledge and experience to help clients to achieve their goals.

Alison will work with Rebecca Baseley and Kate Jackson to develop and expand publicly funded, Mental Health work in the Midlands and Yorkshire. MJC Law are excited to welcome Alison and look forward to the future developments her appointment will bring to the firm.
