Jacob specialises in Court of Protection health and welfare matters including applications relating to individuals’ mental capacity, best interests and deprivation of liberty. Jacob is experienced in supporting and working with people with dementia, learning disabilities and mental health conditions.
Jacob accepts instructions from individuals, their advocates and RPRs, family members and other interested parties. Jacob is committed to broadening his experience in community care and mental health law matters.
Jacob studied Law at the London School of Economics and graduated in June 2019. Alongside his studies Jacob volunteered with Advising Communities, assisting vulnerable clients with benefits claims and appeals. Through his voluntary experiences as well as study of mental health and mental capacity law, Jacob developed a drive to pursue a career in these areas.
Following a year out after finishing his degree, in which he undertook community and advice work, Jacob joined MJC Law in September 2020 as a Paralegal and qualified as a Solicitor in March 2024.
Jacob is a committee member of Young Legal Aid Lawyers, an organisation which campaigns for a sustainable legal aid system and promotes the interests of aspiring and junior legal aid lawyers.
