Expertise
Helen is an experienced Practice Manager who specialises in compliance and Legal Aid Agency contract management.
Helen has previously worked at a national firm as Head of Compliance and prior to that, worked as a Practice Manager in a predominately Legal Aid law firm for many years.
Helen is also an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and a qualified HR practitioner.
Helen is currently Chair of Nottingham Law Society’s Education and Training Committee and also sits on the Equality and Diversity Committee.
Helen is a member of the Legal Aid Practitioner’s Group (LAPG) Advisory Committee and also a member of Nottingham Trent University’s Employer’s Board.
Achievements
In May 2024, Helen was shortlisted for a Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year Award in the ‘Legal Aid Support Staffer’ category. Helen will be attending the awards ceremony in London on 5 July 2024, where the winner will be announced.
In April 2022, Helen was awarded ‘Practice Manager of the Year’ at Nottinghamshire Law Society’s annual awards.
Helen is a member of the Legal Aid Practitioner’s Group (LAPG) Advisory Committee and is passionate about Legal Aid and Access to Justice for all.
Helen is also a member of Nottingham Law School’s Employers Board.
Outside of the office, Helen is an avid fan of spiders and insects and is a member of both the British Arachnological Society (BAS) and the Amateur Entomologists Society (AES).
When not observing insects, Helen enjoys yoga and spending time with her partner and four children.
