Tory studied Law at Staffordshire University and went onto complete her Legal Practice Course at the same university where she graduated with a distinction in 2017.


Tory Smith

During her studies and after graduating, Tory worked at a national advice charity for five years advising clients on a range of issues. Tory went on to obtain her diploma in Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy and has worked as an Independent Mental Capacity Advocate (IMCA), a Relevant Person’s Representative (RPR) under the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, and provided clients with non-statutory advocacy services. It was whilst working as an advocate that Tory developed a passion for working with vulnerable clients and in particular those subject to the Mental Capacity Act 2005.

Tory is very experienced in supporting and working with people with dementia, learning disabilities or acquired brain injuries.

Tory joined MJC Law in January 2019 as a paralegal. Tory primarily assists Conor Maguire and Lauren Crow in the Nottingham office.
