John Scruton wins Practice Manager of the Year award

MJC Law is proud to announce that Practice Manager, John Scruton has been awarded Practice Manager of the year at the Nottingham Law Society Awards 2020.

The award was given to John in recognition of the fact that he has been central to the set up and operation of MJC Law and is credited for the very existence of the firm due to his huge experience and skillful strategic input which has allowed the firm to flourish. The practical implications of the way John has his embraced his role has meant that the three directors, Conor Maguire, Kate Jackson and Lauren Crow have been able to concentrate on their roles as lawyers, providing services to some of the most vulnerable people in society.

When asked about his achievement, John said “It was a great privilege and delight to be awarded the Practice Manager of the Year award by the Notts Law Society last year. After working in the law in various roles based in Nottingham for nearly 30 years, it was wonderful to receive this valedictory award. My thanks to the directors of MJC Law for nominating me so generously, and to my peers in the law in Nottingham for choosing me to receive the award. It is a great way to end my career.”

John will be retiring from his role as Practice Manager at MJC Law in February 2021. As proven by the prestigious award, he has been vital to the firm’s success and he will be greatly missed at the firm.
