Conor Maguire wins Solicitor of the Year award

MJC Law is delighted to announce that Solicitor and Director, Conor Maguire has been awarded Solicitor of the Year at the Nottingham Law Society Awards 2020.

Conor’s award is in recognition of his consistent demonstration of a passion and drive for representing all manners of vulnerable clients and championing their rights.  In only 10 years, he has risen from being a newly qualified lawyer to being the managing director of MJC Law, the largest boutique Court of Protection and Mental Health firm in the country.  Conor was acknowledged for regularly doing his own advocacy, often being preferred by professional clients to more experienced colleagues at the bar which can often mean appearing against intimidating characters, including Queen’s Counsel.

Conor has championed and implemented significant mental health initiatives within MJC Law. He has acted selflessly in assisting the development of junior members of staff at MJC Law and has given them the confidence to go beyond their own expectations.

When asked about his achievement, Conor said “It is a terrific honour to be named as the solicitor of the year by the Nottinghamshire Law Society in particular because it is awarded by and on behalf of my professional peers which gives the award a special significance.  Whilst it is an individual award, really it is an award for everyone at MJC Law.  We are such a small team that without the support of all my colleagues, senior and junior alike, I would not be able to achieve anything for my clients.  With the team we have all working together however, we are able to achieve much more than the sum of our collective parts”.

Everyone at MJC Law is extremely proud of Conor’s achievement, a well-deserved award.
